About Tosa East '76 Website

Welcome to the Tosa East Class of '76 website! This site has been set up for the benefit of all our classmates who attended Wauwatosa East High School. The plan is simple: a single place to hold and share information on past and future reunions, pictures, stories, yearbooks, and contact info.

Found, Missing, or Do Not Contact

Though our 40th reunion is now a nice memory, the reunion continues. Besides our upcoming informal 45th reunion and definitely a 50th reunion, we hold what we call "unofficial" reunions from time to time. How do you find out about these? You need to be registered by sending us your email address. Our Found List contains the names of those who have either given us their email address or told us they are not interested in attending any future reunions.

If you are a fellow classmate, please contact us to let us know. We need your name (preferably your class name as it appeared in the yearbooks), and your email. If you're contacting us to be on our internal Do Not Contact list, be sure to mention that.

Alternatively, you can enter your complete information on our signup form.

Or, enter your name for our Do Not Contact list on that form if you're not interested in any future reunions.

What are you signing up for? Very simply, to get emails on very irregular basis through our Google Group. We make announcements of interest to our class. Upcoming reunions (both official and unofficial), website updates, and news about fallen classmates and faculty. You can click here to see the archive of all the messages sent so you can see exactly what you can expect. We strive to never inundate our class with too many emails.

Please check out the Missing List. If you have contact information on any of these classmates, please let us know. Too many classmates are still missing!

What if you're on the missing list, but you're not interested in participating in any future reunion? Please contact us or fill out the Do Not Contact form. and let us know. We'll be happy to put you on our Found List but you'll be marked internally as a Do Not Contact. This way you will not be bothered in the future during our reunion drives when we make phone calls and send postcards and letters.

Classmates.com

Some of you may be familiar and have even signed up at the classmates.com website. It is our intention to make that site essentially obsolete for our class. Though it is free to sign up and enter your information there, your fellow classmates can only essentially see your name. To see more, they have to pay for the privilege. And the worst aspect of that site is once you just put your name there, you will be inundated with emails. Our site is totally free.

Keeping Information Private

Though we are going to collect contact information for as many of our classmates as possible, the privacy of this data is paramount. Outside of the names of our classmates, all other information listed will be at your specific request. If you don't mind putting your mailing address or phone number, we will publish it. If you don't, we won't. As for email addresses, we will simply not publish them even with permission! And this information will not be on the site so it cannot be hacked.

Now it is possible that a fellow classmate may wish to get another's contact info. In that instance we will still not give out any info. Instead, we will act as intermediary. You must make that request through the webmaster who will then contact that classmate. It will then be up to that person if they wish to respond.

Do you have any information about our fellow classmates? It would be great if you could share that. We will only use it to contact that individual and will not be published. We especially are interested in getting married names.

Our Fallen Classmates

Sadly, already too many of our classmates have passed away. If you have any information, please let us know. You can find the current list of our deceased classmates here.

What We Are Not

We are not a forum. If you are interested in discussing or sharing things with your classmates, at the current time we would recommend you use Facebook. We have a Facebook page and use it to collect information and make announcements as there are about 150 classmates signed up. But Facebook has some serious shortcomings in that not everyone wishes to use it, others use it sparingly, and for us to be totally dependent on Facebook would mean we'd incur costs to get our messages out to everyone. Facebook is no longer free. So we've set up a dedicated Facebook page for the class of '76, but it will only be there as a supplement and hopefully direct people to this website. Note it is a closed group so the postings there are only seen by the members. By the rules of Facebook for a closed group, you have to be specifically invited or you have to ask to join.
